Melbourne writer makes LAMBDA finals

A Melbourne academic is a finalist in the prestigious US Lambda Literary Awards.

Dr Maria Pallotta-Chiarolli’s novel, Love You Two, is nominated in the ‘Bisexual Fiction’ category of the Lambdas, which honour excellence in GLBTI literature.

Centred on a heterosexual teenage girl, Love You Two explores what happens when Pina discovers her mother’s marital relationship is far from traditional and that the world around her is filled with more diversity than she bargained for.

“It’s amazing,” Pallotta-Chiarolli told MCV. “It took me eight years to write and it’s my first novel, so I’m rapt about the reception it’s had.”

The 2010 Lambda Literary Awards will be presented in New York on May 27.
