Sharon and Kelly Osbourne shut down anti-gay protestors at LA Pride March

Sharon and Kelly OsbourneSharon and Kelly Osbourne proved they truly were the Grand Marshal's of the Los Angeles' Pride Parade held last weekend, fighting off march protestors who targeted the pair with expletives and anti-gay profanity.

The reality TV stars were travelling on a float at the 40th annual Los Angeles Gay Pride Parade in Hollywood when they were verbally attacked by a group of homophobic protestors.

Sharon Osbourne did not put up with any of the protestors shouts. With loud speaker in hand, Sharon responded immediately yelling at the protesters and telling them they "should be ashamed of themselves".

Following her mother's lead, Kelly took over the loud speaker to lead the crown in a chant of "My God Loves Gays". The protestors’ taunts were drowned out by neighbouring spectators and participants.

Another witness recounted the events to Britain's Daily Mail and said, "Kelly and Sharon were amazing. They didn't look intimidated by the protesters for one minute - if anything, it was exactly the opposite, they relished the fight! Sharon got right in their faces admonishing them and Kelly just started shouting into the microphone: 'My God loves gays!' The crowd went wild and started chanting, the atmosphere was electric!"

"The protesters were obviously defeated and left pretty quickly. As they were leaving everyone was screaming and clapping, it was amazing! Sharon and Kelly are gay icons and they proved why on Sunday - they really are friends to the gay community, and in return we love them."

The Osbourne's immediately accepted parade organisers’ invitation to be joint Grand Marshal's in the 2010 parade. The offer to participate as the Grand Marshal in the parade is offered to someone that has previously shown their support to the GLBTQ community.

When the announcement of this year's Grand Marshals was made public earlier this year, Kelly immediately took to her Twitter account to express her excitement about the event.

Her Twitter entry reads:

"Getting a rainbow manicure: $35. Finding a fabulous outfit: $200. Being the LA PRIDE Parade Grand Marshal with Mum: PRICELESS! See you 6/13!"
